Paint protection film is a thermoplastic urethane often self-healing film applied to painted surfaces of a new or used car in order to protect the paint from stone chips, bug splatters, and minor abrasions.

​PPF can be applied to all areas of the car but the most common places to have PPF is the front end as this is a high impact area, along the boot area to save paintwork from those dog claws and anywhere with high traffic. Gloss black pillars are also commonly covered.
